The warmth of igloos in snow storms.
The fluidty of a Spanish tongue
to request 2 coffees
and romance about the sun
and rain
in equal love
that only a bilingual English man could honestly posses
that remembers the foreign shores of a lost youth now.

I wish you sandwichs and knuckle dusting memories,
to the point and bruising.
The luck of the draw
your Russian ancestors keep itching for
when there's any talk of casinos,
and you could do with more
than your fair share
of luck.

I wish you magpies and dietry stability.
The stars, whether shooting or otherwise
to remind you that when life sucks
it is only a tiny blip of a zit
on the amazing beauty of the face
of the universe.
Give it time,
it will pass.
You will survive.

But most of all I wish you the ability to know
